Privacy Policy
What Doko Maps keeps about you and your work, why it needs it, who else handles it, and the choices you have.
Who we are
Doko Maps is an independent product under Mobayilo, with its own website and support. In this policy, “we” means the Doko Maps team. Write to [email protected] with any question about your information.
What we collect
- Your account: your email address, the name you choose, your profile details and picture, your preferred language, and your Google account identifier if you sign in with Google.
- Your work: guides, places, notes, categories, saved places, the cities on your travel globe, and itineraries, including the guest names, dates, costs and notes you enter.
- Sharing: the follows you request and approve, the editors you invite by email, and the guest links you create.
- Enquiries: the name, email address, optional phone number, travel dates and message a person sends from a public itinerary.
- Messages to us: the name, email address, topic and message you send from the Contact page.
- Billing: your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers and the subscription's status. Card details go to Stripe and never reach us.
- Technical information: server logs of each request, including its IP address, kept for security and reliability; and the approximate country, city and position our network provider derives from an IP address, used to draw the globe on the page you are viewing and not stored.
How we use it
We use this information to run Doko Maps: to sign you in, save your work and show it to the people you choose, send sign-in links, invitations and enquiry notices, process your subscription, answer your messages, protect the service from abuse, and fix what breaks.
We do not sell your information, and Doko Maps shows no advertising.
Information about your guests
When you enter a guest's name or details, you are responsible for having their agreement to share them with us for planning their trip. A guest's name appears only on the guest link, never on a public itinerary.
What other people can see
Your profile, your public guides and your public itineraries can be read by anyone and may appear in search engines. A private guide opens only to you, the editors you invite and the followers you approve. A guest link opens one itinerary or guide to whoever holds it.
Services we rely on
Each of these services receives only what its task needs:
- Our hosting provider runs the application and its database. Cloudflare carries our traffic and stores the images you upload.
- Google supplies place search and place details, the map tiles your browser loads from Google directly, and Google sign-in if you choose it.
- ZeptoMail delivers our email. Stripe processes subscriptions and payments.
- OpenAI and Anthropic process the planning assistant's work when you use it: your question and the itinerary or guide it works on.
- ExchangeRate-API supplies daily reference rates. It receives currency codes only, never your itineraries or personal information.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as your account exists, and remove the work you delete. As Google requires, a place's position is refreshed within 25 days and deleted after 30 if it is not. Places suggested during an import are deleted after 30 days.
When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your information, except what we must keep for billing, security or legal reasons.
Security
Every connection is encrypted. There is no password to steal: a sign-in link works once and expires after 15 minutes. No system is perfectly secure, so please tell us at [email protected] if you find a problem.
Your choices and rights
You can change your profile, your work and who can read it at any time. Write to [email protected] to receive a copy of your information, correct it, or delete your account.
Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to object to or restrict how we use your information, and to complain to your data protection authority.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, we update the effective date at the top of the page. For a significant change, we tell you by email before it applies.
